Good Afternoon Parents of BWA!

I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. Memorial Day is a day to remember all those who risked their lives for the safety and security of this country. For them, we are forever grateful. This week we welcome June. We have finished up testing with the exception of the 8th grade state test which will take place this week.

Friday was a great day of competitions and joy! Watching the smiles and laughter on our students' faces, I was reminded me that we have the best job in the world! There's nothing better than what we do and you do as parents.

Below are the updates for the week.

Instructional Updates

  1. Science Fair for 6th and 7th Grade June 7th: Our annual science fair will take place on June 7th next week! Come show your support by stopping by after school and judging some of the amazing projects. Our 6th and 7th graders have been working really hard to put together these projects!
  2. Battle of the Pods Winners!: The Angelou Pod, Soto Pod, and Zinn Pod took home wins on Friday for the competitions! They will all have an extended recess on Wednesday! I heard Myers, Hughes, Alvarez, and Morrison were requesting a round 2. Stay tuned for making this happen!
  3. Hallways and Passes: Please be reminded that all students should be in the hallway with a pass. Students will be sent back to class if they don't have one. If you are in need of passes, please tell Tina so she can make you new ones. This is so important to ensuring safe and orderly hallways.
  4. Community Fair 6/9/17!: Mark your calendars! Our joint community fair will take place from 5-8 on June 9th! We are looking forward to this rodeo themed event that we are hosting for the entire community of BWA and 22! Please help us make this an incredible event by coming out to show your support.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to reach out.
